Madeleine Milburn Literary, TV & Film Agency
BritCrime Festival Opportunity
Saturday 11-Monday 13 July
You could win a personal critique/consultation
Milburn will pick the top three most enticing pitches tweeted 11-13 July during the BritCrime Festival. The three winners will be offered feedback on their covering letter, synopsis, and first three chapters of a crime novel.
Your questions answered:
1) Is this open internationally? Can writers from overseas enter?
Yes, definitely!
2) Can I enter more than once?
No, please choose your best pitch or question and tweet it once to @agentmilburn some time during the BritCrime Festival, 11-13 July.
3) I'm ready now! Wouldn't it be better if I tweeted my pitch to you immediately?
Please wait and tweet during the BritCrime Festival, 11-13 July. Submissions before the festival opens on 11 July or after the closing date of 13 July cannot be considered.
4) I can't get my pitch into a tweet. Can I email it to you?
No. Please tweet it to @agentmilburn. Don't forget to include the #BritCrime hashtag!
5) I have self-published the book already. Can I still pitch it?
No, this opportunity is for new, unpublished crime novels.
6) When will the winners be picked?
The Madeline Milburn Literary, TV & Film Agency will monitor entries as they come in 11-13 July and make their decision Tuesday 14th July, the day after the closing date.
7) When can I expect my critique if I win?
Before the end of August. Madeleine Milburn will direct message the winners on Twitter to get further details and arrange for them to send over material.
8) This sounds great! I have an agent but I’d like a second opinion on my new book. Can I enter? This is only open to new writers who are currently without representation by a literary agent.
9) I have a new crime novel that isn't available anywhere but I have self-published other books. Can I pitch my crime novel at the BritCrime Festival?
Yes, of course! Looking forward to hearing from you.
Madeleine Milburn represents two bestelling authors who are participating in the BritCrime Festival: Mel Sherratt and CL Taylor.
